Club Professional John Sharkey joined the professional ranks in 1977 at Rushmere Golf club Ipswich. He then moved closer to home gaining his PGA qualifications whilst training at the Gog Magog Golf Club in Cambridge. Taking up his first full club position at March GC followed by a short spell at Girton GC John was appointed Head Professional at the Links in 1990. As a PGA Class A Professional he is committed totally to delivering the best service possible to all golfers.
Dean, formally the Director of Golf at Breckland Pines Golf Course and was also part of the coaching team at the Culford School. Dean as an amateur was a four time Bury St Edmunds Club champion and in 2009 set the lowest score in the tournaments 100 year history with a winning score of 139 5 under par. He has also represented the Suffolk county team at all levels. After completing his PGA training he was elected for PGA membership in the October of 2020. Dean is still active from a competitive standpoint and will represent the Links GC on the East Region PGA circuit.
Jonny is our specialist putting coach. He has become one of only 6 Quintic Ball Roll Level 2 accredited instructors in the UK, gaining a reputation for his putting coaching in the East Anglia region. He works with all levels of golfers from professionals to beginner golfers and is also putting coach for the Cambridgeshire Area Golf Union.
With his specialist knowledge in coaching and qualifications combined, he is in the best position to guide you on your journey to becoming an outstanding putter. 
Linda has been a member of the Pro Shop team for 10 years. Currently playing off a handicap of 29 she delivers the very best in retail customer service for all members and visitors. She has developed and created a real niche for herself with our ladies fashion department and is now highly respected and renowned in the East region. She has also been hugely influential in helping new members become integrated within the club.
The Links GC was first established in 1902, and later re-designed by the renowned golf architect Colonel S.V. Hotchkin, most famous for the ‘Hotchkin Course’ at Woodall Spa, the home of England Golf.
